water pump replaced....? i drove it one day and it suddenly began to quikcly overheat, and sound weird. it went to the red area on the thermostat and turned off on me. when i tried to turn it on, it rattled really bad. what happened? i was told maybe the head gaskets, but i would like others opinions on here. thanks.
it has 131,000 miles
how much will installing a used engine cost me?
 
Your motor is more than likely junk.If car has 3400 in it used motor around 700 bucks to install around 300 bucks.If it was me I would go ahead and replace intake gaskets because this is a common ailment of these motors.Also replace front and rear main oil seals.
 
if you knew that the fuel and water pump needed to be changed, then change it. that's what causing the car to turn off on you
 
don't know the mileage? bearing in the waterpump could be your noise. you could have lost coolant at some point and overheated. or maybe your thermostat stuck shut.......after it cools off for a while, carefully remove radiator cap to see how low on coolant you are. best advise is to get a knowledable person look at it.. . . .
