...is there a way to tell...? I just bought a 2003 Chevy impala, previously owned by the NY State police. All four windows plus the back are tinted pretty dark. I live in CT and the legal limit is no higher then 35%. Can anyone tell me how i can figure out (without having to pay fees at a shop) if my tint is legal. Thanks
 
go back to the police station and ask them to test it for you. they have devices for that...

lol you shouldn't need to test if it was owned by police...
