, everything is fine until I shift in to gear. than I get a big voltage fluctuation and all the lights dim or glow when they are not supposed to. I disconnected all the interior lights and everything that seemed to be affected but i still get the voltage flux. I know there must be something electrical with the automatic transmission but I don't know what it is or where to find it.
oh and if anyone cares I got the short because I came out the the store the other day and there was an old man parked right in front of my truck with his hood up and jumper cables hooked up, so i thought oh this will be my good deed for the day, so I popped the hood and grab the other end of the jumpers not realizing that there was no sheath on the positive cable so when I hooked it up it immediately fell against the frame, sparked and melted to the frame so i knocked it off but the damage was done. and the kicker was the old guys battery was fine, he was just drunk (I could smell it on him) and didn't know what he was doing........ they say no good deed goes unpunished. I can't afford to go and get it fixed so any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you.
