...this just to dispose of for me? the car is still drivable and in good condition (but does need some motor work). body and interior in good shape and new radial tires are on it. It is on property of a friend and needs to be moved. I have nowhere to put it or nobody to work on for me. just want to let it go

Put it in the paper and see what kind of a result you can get. You don't know - someone who needs it as a second car may very well take it off your hands for more than scrap value.

Look in the paper there are guys that will pick it up for free or maybe Pay you a few bucks for it to scrap it.
