I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado w/ push button 4wd. It won't go into 2-Hi or 4-Lo, but will go into 4-Hi or Auto 4wd. When I'm driving it doesn't seem to be in 4-Hi, when it says it is. I'm guessing the electronic mechanism is broken, but I'm concerned if driving the truck at high speeds, say 70mph, will damage the truck.
It doesn't steer like it is in 4wd. I'm almost 100% positive. I use the 4wd quite frequently, so I'm familiar with the feel. I do a lot of driving around town at 45 mph and below, that's not the concern. I will have to drive to drive somewhere tomorrow that will require me to drive 60-70 mph. I don't want to damage the truck.

Sounds like an electronics problem. Better check you Owners Manual, I think it says not to drive over 40 - 50 mph in 4wd!
