80s regal please help? anybody that does custom work tell me whats the best way to do it

Neither would be a good fit. The '41-50 Fleetline has a 116 wheelbase, 57 1/2 front track, and a 60 rear track. The Impala X-frame would be 3 too long. They were a strange design in general, so I wouldn't consider it for anything other than an Impala. The Regal frame would have a wheelbase that was almost 8 too short. G-body wheelbase's were in the 108 range. Your best bet would be an 80's Carpice or Impala frame. The wheelbase is identical at 116. The rear track is only 1/2 wider, so that could be taken care of easily with wheel offset. The only major issue other than body mounting is the front track. The front track width on the Caprice frame is over 4 too wide. The front wheels on a stock '50 Chev. are tucked fairly deep into the wheel wells anyway, so a couple extra inches of track width per side may not make much difference. I've never done one, but you may be able to get away with just adding wheel offset. If not several companies make narrowed tubular control arms for '94-96 Impala SS, which had the same style suspension as the '77-90 B-bodies. That should take up 2-3 and you should easily be able to take care of the rest with wheel offset.
