Recently, the 'Low Coolant' light came on. Someone told me that I might have a blown head gasket or maybe even a cracked block. Thus, causing coolant to mix into the oil. They said that it would look like there was 'chocolate milk' under the oil cap. They looked under the oil cap and said that it indeed looked like something was mixed with the oil.

About a week ago, I put 'SeaFoam' in the oil to free a stuck lifter. We thought that this is what is causing the oil to look different. There is nothing dripping in my driveway or any other place I park, so I'm wondering why my coolant light keeps coming on.

What do you think is going on? Could it be a head gasket?

that sea foam should only make the oil look a little different. coolant will make it very cloudy or milky even. that check coolant light will come on for only two reasons. one the coolant is low many few reasons that this will happen hat i will go into in a minute here. but the second reason that the light will come on to check that level is that either the sensor is blocked by corrosion or the coolant is just way too thin. now back to why the coolant would drop. you could have a leak any where in the cooling system. you could have a hot running engine that just allows a little to evaporate and over a period of time enough will disappear to allow this problem. the final idea is very simple and cheap to take care of at the same time. a radiator cap is designed to hold a set pressure but over a period of time that cap will start to get weak. a failing cap will allow coolant to evaporate and guess what that light will come on. you could have a blown head gasket/cracked block/cracked head, but by what you are telling me you have not mentioned anything that leads me to think that this is the case. it is quite common to get a little of that milky looking substance on the oil cap this time of year. if you are concerned about this idea go and get a cylinder leak down test done, that will eliminate all potential problems.
