Insurance, reliability, speed, and gas millage.

Man if your teen, a SS is pretty fast car so you might act rowdy and feel the need for speed.

Im 18 and I sometimes want to thump my 97 chevy lumina gas pedal LOL

Seriosuly take this info into consideration: DOMESTIC VEHICLES BREAK DOWN A LOT.

if you want to play it safe buy a japanese honda or toyota etc. seriously excellent fuel MPG and really really dependable seriously.

Seriously this past week 3 of 4 of my luminas windows stopped working, fuel pump failed etc. I just hope it keeps running. And dont think this is only with my car it is bound to happen with all domestic vehicles, once you get a problem its all down hill from there with domestics and the resale value is shit all.

BTW the you will probably get 20-22 MPG in the SS.

Insurance would be an issue on anything the insurance company considers a sports car, especially if your 17. On the plus side of things if you get a Cobalt SS there is the potential that the car could become a collectors item in the future. They discontinued the SS package on the Cobalt a few years ago, so the vehicles with the SS trim package will become sought after by collectors and aficionados of Chevy Cobalts.

Not sure about insurance, but they aren't that fast, and the people I know have had either a great car or a complete turd with a cobalt, a couple have had no issues, and a few have had lots of problems. Gas mileage will depend mostly on how you drive it. Figure around 30mpg average if you drive it conservatively.

Chevys have really gone downhill in reliabity. Insurance for a 17 year old male will be high on almost any car but there are discounts out there just make sure to shop around. If I were you I'd go for a Toyota or a Honda they are a little more expencive but will last alot longer plus you will save on maintence costs. If you must get a Chevy make sure to get an extended warenty.

i am 17 too and in my opinion insurance would be the worst problem for you considering how much mine was going to go up until i switched insurances and i just have the sport model.
