I tried to bleed brakes on this car. When I was finished the brakes pressure was low and the brake light came on and never went off. I do not know what it could be. Any experienced brake techs out there. I believe that I did not line up the screw nozzle to the caliper nozzle, or could the rubber cap have anything to do with it?

It's best to do it with 2 people, but "one man bleeders" are available at most auto parts stores and Harbor Freight. Anyway, always start with the brake that is furthest from the master cylinder. Have plenty of brake fluid on hand. Have your helper pump the brakes 3-4 times and hold the pedal to the floor. Open the bleeder, wait a couple seconds, close the bleeder and repeat until you get a good flow of fluid. Refill the master cylinder as needed throughout or you'll just put more air in the lines. Work your way around the car doing the same thing.

Another way to do it if you don't have a helper is to "gravity bleed" them. Get the car as level as you can while being able to reach the bleeder and just loosen it. Keep the master cylinder full. Takes a while but effective for a one man job.
