How to set the presets on the original radio for a 1979 Corvette.?

It's an original radio, I've tried a couple things, but there are not so many buttons to work with. I'm not sure if the presets are even 'set-able', but they have been set in the past, and still take me to those stations. Unfortunately, I don't like any of the current presets. I do not have the original manual of any sort. Any ideas?
I tried to push them in and hold, like today's radios, but that didn't work. I try your guy's suggestion, and report back.

If it is the old style with the big silver buttons that you can actually grab and pull that is how you set it. Just tune it to the station you want to have preset and pull the button the whole way out and then push it the whole way in. Hope I have been helpful.
