I just bought an 06 Chevy Malibu, and I did not test the remotes for the keyless entry before I bought it. I have 2, and on both of them the panic button and pop trunk button work, but the lock and unlock buttons don't do anything. Does anyone know how I could fix this without finding a chevy dealer?

You can try to take the remotes apart and clean them. When you open it (there is a small slit in the side to insert a coin or screwdriver), and remove the green circuit board from inside the grey rubber cover. Take some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and wipe the flat side of the circuit board and the black dots on the gray cover. Reassmble the remote and test it. If this does not work you will need new remotes and they will have to be programmed to the vehicle through a Chevy dealer.
If your car has less than 36,000 miles there is no charge for the remote replacement, it is under warranty. Some extended warranties cover the replacements as well.

look in your owners manual, there is a procedure you can do. its under where you change the batteries. I think all you do is get next to the car and the hold the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time. after about 7 or so seconds the horn will chirp and your done
