How to get to the Back spark plugs on 2000 chevy Malibu 6 cly?

I can see where the wires go but just sure the best way to get to the back 3 spark plugs.

This is REALLY interesting!!! The procedure is this. Dislocate the front motor mounts. Then, using, a strap, rotate the engine towards you until you can gain access. It is really cool to watch done. I hope you have the good sense to be using a higher tech spark plug, like a Bosch Fusion, or Nippondenso Twin Tip plug. These will give better fuel mileage and power than the factory installed plugs. Also, vital sensors will last longer over time. You will save $$$$!!

if you can,t reach them then you might have to get them from under the car.

Reach
You can go underneath and reach up.
Use a good ratchet with extensions and swivel. When loose use a hose the size of the plug to take it out the final amount.

depending on the particular model, you may find it easier to raise the vehicle up (safety first,chocks, jack stands,level ground) and reach up from below .with a good light you should be able to see the plug wire boots easily between the rear of the engine and the firewall.there are a few GM front drive /transverse V-6 models that have an intake plenum that interferes with spark plug removal on the rear side and the upper intake section needs to be removed...i don't believe that this is the case with the malibu.make sure to use a high quality plug so you don't need to get under there for several more years again.good luck.

disconnect your motor mount and pull the engine with a come-along or the special tool designed for it.

underneath is good but sometimes the exhaust will be in the way. on the top of the engine there will be a single or couple of engine braces that look like dumbbells. these will be used to tilt the engine forward toward the radiator. you take one or both off the engine roll the engine forward toward the radiator the either chain or refasten the braces. this will give you access to the rear plugs
