I'm turning 16 soon and my mom is giving me around $10,000 for for my first car what car I really want is a used Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab but what I have been noticing when searching for one on the internet is that almost all around my price range have high mileage, around 140,000. So what I was wondering is how reliable are Silverados with high mileage?

Also would it be a better choice to get one that doesn't have the extended cab without high mileage or to get a Dodge ram 1500 quad cab (they are reasonably cheaper)?
Im lookig for around 2003 or 2004

yea the relibility of a chevy truck is awsome truck like 140k is good but not great for 10ki can grab a chevy for u for about 7k brand new chevy last in the earli 300k to 400k i had a chevy truck lasted up 808k and died out on me and it was a 1989 chevy van now if you are talking about getting a dodge and letting u die on the side of the road with 140k then buy that crappy dodge but a chevy is the way to go my dude i used my chevy for towing and everything even abused the hell out of it before it gave out at 808 k

how old is the truck? Older chevys are reliable I own two I am selling one it isn't an extended cab but It is reliable

silverados are good they can last long, also the gmc sierra is the same thing so it won't matter which one u get, i wouldn't get the ram, dodges have bad transmissions
