...modern one? I want a black '67 2-door Impala (like the one on Supernatural haha..)
or a '67 2-door Camaro..

The mpg on both are really poor, and i was wonderin' how much it would cost to get a good modern engine put in so that it would be a bit more fuel efficient. (like a fuel-injected one)

Or would it be better to just leave the old-school engine in there and just suffer at the pump ?

it would cost you the motor, all the electronics, all new wiring, new motor mounts, new fuel lines and pump, etc., for a "modern" engine, but you could get an '86 350 truck engine with a q-jet carb and hei that will plug and play with no problems, i have a 1986 suburban with this motor that gets 13 to the gallon, so youd get like 17-20 in a car with this motor., or you could get a 1990 TBI truck 350 with all the computer equiptment and the pump to plug in so long as you had a good place in the cab for the computer, youd robbably get 18-23 with this motor.

i would put an 80's engine in with the q jet and hei for reliablilty and simplicity, because id hate to have to deal with the points ignition that came with these cars
