(Christmas present for Husband)? My husband has had it (along with the engine) sitting inside his garage for forever. I need to get him a little motivated.
Drop an engine.....not and.
It's a 1983 z28 but I think it had a 350 5.7L instead of a 305 5.0 w/a fivespeed

Depends on if everything is ready to go. Trans matches up, fresh motor mounts etc. If you just need the labor done probably about $500, but with other prep work (towing if it needs to be done somewhere else), you are probably looking at $1200 to $1500.

I would say around 800 dollars. That would be a pretty simple swap. Make sure to call around and don't get ripped off by some greedy mechanic.

You know I was looking into dropping in a 350 on an 89 camaro and it would have cost 1200 dollars cheapest it really depends on what size you want!

depends on what engine. A 350 could be anywhere from 800-1000. But you have to make sure that it is a small block and you have a transmission that will hold the extra horse power. But i would guess if he doing it him self it will only be 800-1000 but if you have someone do it, it will be more. And try to get a rebuilt motor(low miles and you know that it hasn't been beat up by some kid. hope that helped

HI
both the First two answers are about right ... really need more Information. Like is it the stock motor (the first answer, and if not what size is going in then we would know what kind of fabrication is going to be needed ( the second answer)
good luck
