My engine is slowly deteriorating, (150000 miles might start doin that) and I've recently come into quite a few problems with the engine and transmission. I don't want to sell the truck, because it has sentimental value to me (father left it before he died, wanted my son to have it). I've recently come into quite a bit of extra money recently as well, so I though of an idea where I have a new performance engine and transmission installed. I know that is pretty expensive, I may not even have enough, but I wanna know a ballpark price of that procedure. (I kinda guessed 10K-12K) Unfortunately, I lack the mechanical know-how my father had and am pretty much lost on the internet, so yall auto gurus out there should have fun with this. Remember, I want performance, something that will last. Thanks.

As many engines, transmissions etc.. that we have built, installed, raced, you name it.. I would say you could get a really good mix of performance and longevity for under 8K. If you do allot of it yourself, whether it be the install stuff or just hand picking the pieces that go into it, you will be putting even more sentimental value of your own in it to pass on to your son. ;)
