how much horse power does a 2001 chevy silverado have ?

and how much would a K and N cold air intake add to the horse power and fuel mileage
it would be the half ton pick up the k1500

4.8 has 275 horsepower and the 5.3 has 285 in the 2001 models. Most of my customers tell me it adds about a 1 mpg to add a cold air intake. I don't know about what it would add to the horse power.

KN filters only improve horsepower by 2-6 horse. But they are good for saving gas. I have them on both my vehicles. So I am going to assume if it is the 1500 you probably have 5.7 litre engine, its likely around 295 horsepower already. K/N is still good for saving gas though. My 2001 Blazer has a 4.3 litre vortec and it was getting around 220 miles to a tank and now I get around 245.

They switched to metric in 1998 have since not made horse power, they now make Newtons / Meter.
