i have only worked on one of these before but isn't there a space below that this will come out through,seems like i remember getting one of through an opening or turning it sideways or something,its been a while since i had to do this, but i know i got it off ,because i still got the old handle in the shop off of it if you got the rod off of it, it should come of,the rod will make it hang up,i,ll try and find some info on this if possible and post it,,good luck,
