How do I replace the power lock in the driver side door in my 2002 chevy malibu?

I got this car from my grandma and a few things were broken. One of them was the driver-side power lock. The switch still works, but it doesn't pop back into the middle position, which makes me think that a spring was dislodged. I popped off the panel, but the box that contains the power lock mechanism is fastened to the panel and I can't get it off. Neither can I disconnect the power cords. How do I take it apart? Can I fix it myself? or do I need a replacement part? If so, what part? Would an Autozone have it?

Thanks!

I'm not really sure what you mean by saying the lock mechanism is fastened to the door. It is going to be easier (and not very expensive) to buy a new switch and install it rather than taking apart the old one to fix a spring. Trust me.

To get it off, I would look for plastic or metal clips. Thats usually all that holds the switch boxes on. There are small plastic tabs that hold the connectors together, lift up on them with a screw driver and wiggle it out.
