Ok, I have a 2004 Av and I don't like how the front end of the truck dips downward. Someone told me that all i have to do is adjust the two bolts that are on the torsion bars. How do i do this without getting hurt and with out messing up my truck. I know that when I make the adjustment I will need to get an alignment done.

All i want is to level out my truck so it doesn't have that dipping look to it. I'm doing this because i really don't want to buy a lift kit for my truck.

Any help will be great.

you can crank the torsion bars up and it will level it out. Get an alignment right away because it changes the toe in on your rig.Or you can get make a real truck out of it and trade it for a dodge.

No you don't need an alignment when you adjust torsion bars, they are made to be adjusted. Although I doubt you will be able to raise the front end up with them since they are normally at max ride height already from the factory and so you can only adjust it down by turning that bolt. The reason why your truck is lower on the front is so it sits level with a load in the back. You really can't get hurt adjusting the springs on this vehicle, just make sure if you do turn the bolt, count how many turns you turn it and do it exactly the same on the other side to keep the side to side height the same.

you won't get hurt but if you crank up the torsion bars it's not hard, you should take it to a shop to get an alignment done so you won't wear tires.

tell the folks in the alignment shop to adjust the torsion bars to give you a few inches of elevation in the front. If they can't do it, then you can't get the truck aligned after someone else adjusts the bars to increase the height. Right?
