hooking up an amp and sub to a chevy cobalt. (pics of gear included)?

i've got a 2006 chevy cobalt, an MTX sub, a sony 1000 watt amp, and one tsunami amp installation kit. i get a feeling i need some more stuff, and am not sure if it's going to be wise to install this myself.

if you have some information that could help me install this that would be great.
