2011 Chevy Silverado, installed HID system with 12v relay triggered by right side low beam headlamp socket. This ran fine for 5 months then the headlamp socket driving the relay went dead, fuses and relay tested fine. Switched the relay trigger over to the left side low beam socket, only worked for two weeks then it went dead. Again, all fuses and relay test fine. Is there another set of fuses or relay that is in-line that could be the culprit? If I take a 12v source and feed it into the HID relay trigger, the HIDs work again. High beams still work fine. Ok, just fixed it. Headlight 20a fuse in the main fusebox was not making contact and the 12v HID relay was burnt out. After futsing with the 20a headlight fuse, I finally heard the 12v HID relay engage but no power to the HID system still. I swapped out the 12v HID relay with a spare, and have my headlights back. What bothers me most, is the poor fuse connection in the main fusebox. Is there any way to improve a fuse's contacts if the socket has worn a little and the fuse is slightly loose?

without seeing the type of socket hard to say but generally take a needle nose plier and bend the contacts outward, you may want to disconnect the battery before attempting this.
