hhr 2007 just put in a 180 thermostat

what temp should i be reading on the dash board im getting 190 to 200 but the gauge is reading at 1/2 thats good right its a 2.2 hhr it has a180 thermostat in it. last one had all broken rubber in it and the engine light and the temp gauge would not work.

typically the needle at half scale is a normal range temperature

Thanks i have that but id like to know what temp is ur car reading mine is 1/2 on the gauge too

rent an IR gun if you need to know the exact temperature
