My boyfriend is obsessed with his newly ordered Camaro, didn't even get it yet! He goes to every dealership to see which one they have, sits in them, takes pictures of them to show everyone on his phone. He is constantly going on e-bay to see whats selling, reads every car magazine out there and never stops talking about it. I am not a jealous person but I feel like I don't exist sometimes. I am 40 years old and recently divorced. Is this a mid-life crisis he's going through or am I being insecure? Opinions please! Thank you.

Has he ALWAYS been into cars?? Into Chevy's???? Into Camaro's??
It sounds like he's had muscle cars before.
If so...you should already know the answer. My love affair with the internal combustion engine and everything that is attached goes back to my earliest memories. These vehicles are like children.....and he's expecting! Hell I name mine! I've been with my wife for 34 years...25 of which we've been married....I'm 51, and the "deal" has ALWAYS been; the house is hers...however she wants to decorate it is fine. The yard is hers...I don't mind cutting the grass and pulling weeds....but whatever she wants to do with it is fine.....the garage is MINE! Being that I am a photgrapher, the walls are COVERED in car art....mine. There is neon lighting, a huge neon lit ceiling fan and a monster stereo. The drive-way is covered in burn-outs....the neighbors think I'm nuts....that's OK...I am. Now we both have our own "babies" in the garage. Mine is a 79 Z-28 and ours is the 79 Trans Am...my Regal also fits in there. Is she a gear head...no. But I bought the T/A because she's always loved them and it gets her involved. So maybe, the answer is to become more involved with a car of your own....Will his obsession grow weaker after the "baby" arrives...hell no. Maybe in 5-10 years.....but then he'll get ANOTHER car....AHHHHH!! ;-) Being a gear-head is a terminal situation....never goes away. It could be worse....there's gambling, drugs, being unfaithful.....if you look at it that way....it could be worse. Right??
Life is too short...have fun...and ALWAYS remember.....Speed doesn't kill....it's the SUDDEN stop that REALLY hurts!!
