I have to get a Body BCM Module replaced in my 2008 Chevy Malibu! One day I tried to start my car and it would not turn over. Battery is good. It was almost like the car was slowly powering down and the car would not start. This Service Traction light kept coming blinking on my dashboard for some time maybe a week or so. Found out if was the Body BCM Module. What exactly does this module do? Well, yeah I know it has something to do with the car not starting, just want a little education on my Malibu. Good car! Kinda like bad things happen to good people, well bad things happen to good cars. What would cause the BCM to go bad? Just do not want it repeating itself if there is something I can prevent from happening again.

It is a module, not really something that goes out on a common practice but can fail. What were the codes stored in your vehicle??? The BCM is the gateway for your vehicle, all modules go through the BCM. It has a hand in everybody else's pocket so to speak. Some modules do speak to each other around the BCM, but most go through it since it is the Master or Gateway as for the data serial lines are concerned.
