Gas pedal switch

I have a 1985 Suburban and recently discovered a switch on the gas pedal was broken, I believe it's the transmission kick down switch. I just want to confirm that's what it is and should I drive without it operating?

well without seeing it, hard to answer your question. So does the transmission fully downshift when you step on the gas pedal all the way to the floor?

This is the closest I could get, but it is the exact switch that is broken.

That might still be availabe from GM, try part number 1242101
