You are right - I did neglect to say that it is a dual battery setup. When I disconnect the negative cable from the primary battery, the engine starts with no key in ignition. I replaced the starter thinking that was the problem but it still does it. Any ideas???Something is missing in your description. An engine not connected to a battery cannt start.
Both batteries are fully charged. Could it be a problem with the dual system relay? I still don't think the truck should start without a key in the ignition regardless. It is quite the conundrum . . .Everything I see about a dual system mentions a relay to isolate the batteries when not running. Is one of the batteries dead?
