DVD Noise in 2014 Chevy Suburban

We recently starting hearing a high pitched whirring noise whenever we play a DVD in our 2014 Suburban factory installed DVD player. The image and sound output are ok, but it just makes the annoying noise when we play it. It sounds like the dvd motor needs to be lubed. Has anyone experienced this? Our vehicle is out of the bumper to bumper warranty, so I want to avoid paying an arm and a leg for a repair.

The unit has to be removed and sent out to a shop that specializes in radio and CD repairs for car units. The other choice is to replace it with an aftermarket unit.
