does a 1970 chevy nova need a gas tank with E.E.C?

because my gas tank is leaking and the one without E.E.C is more than half the price.

It depends on where you live. If you live in California then yes.

because your car does not need to be smogged (pre-1976) you shouldn't need the EEC (Evaporation Emission Control). if you are just replacing the tank and dont have to go through a CHP check i'd stick with the cheaper of the two. i doubt the car had it to start with

where r you..i live in VA no pollution stuff needed [except near DC]
in VA a vintage car needs no testing/inspection [25 yrs old or older] read the law befor you spend
my 69 chevelle had all egr,,,and stuff removed,,,no muss no fuss new gas tank was 175 dollars
