Do chevy malibu's automatically lock when you leave it?

I have a 2008 chevy Malibu. Im at school and I don't remember if I locked it or not, do they lock automatically when you leave it and shut the door?

I don't think anything would happento it considering it's school property and there are cameras everywhere and security guards everywhere. But still...
