I like Camaros. They are my favorite cars. I have owned seven or eight of them in my life before. I hope to own one again in the future as well.
My wife and I had a 1992 Honda Accord up until a month ago, when it was totaled. So now, we're looking for a rock solid, reliable car or truck. I am a college student, and I commute to school. So we need a dependable ride.
I was really wanting to buy a 1999 Chevy Camaro, but it has 212K miles. The engine (3.8 V6) and tranny are original. But the shocks and struts were never changed. The timing chain evidently had never been replaced. So I was scared about buying the Camaro, for fear that it may either break down or need the motor or transmission rebuilt in the near future. I know that I was about to make an emotionally based decision to buy the car- but my wife and I just have barely enough saved up to have purchased it. We would have been penniless if we paid the asking price. We wouldn't have had any money left over for tires, and oil change, the tag, title, etc. We only get SSDI, and we get paid once a month. I decided to pass on the Camaro, even though I liked the car. Here is the car:

Did I choose wisely by passing on this particular car?
