2011 Malibu, 130k miles.

The car runs great and starts with no issues all the time except after fueling. Every time I fuel the car, regardless of how empty of full the tank is, the engine will not turn over. It sounds like a dead battery, clicking sound when ignition key is turned. After waiting 5 to 10 minutes the engine starts with no issues.

I’m baffled, any ideas?

Do you have a check engine light on?
When this happens do you notice a strong smell of gasoline?

Check engine light is on, haven’t pulled codes yet doing that tonight. No smell of fuel.

See if the codes are evap related

A good start is to replace your canister purge valve ... this happened to my malibu also .
once I replaced the purge valve ... it would start after refueling.

That's what I suspect also
