Ok I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the 350 V8 it has 197,000+ miles on it and has always ran smooth and strong but today I drove it about 30mi with a tow dolly on the back picked up the (toyota camry) dropped it off about 6mi then drove home with the dolly about 25mi then it just out of nowhere started running badly and died. I got it home and checked the fuel pump (working) bought a new fuel filter but the thing runs really bad and will only run while i am on the gas and will not Idol!! I really dunno what to do or whats wrong someone suggested timing chain slip?(cause of the trailer?) Can anyone tell me whats wrong??? Thanks

I had a similar problem on my 95 . The black plastic hose ( approx 1 in) from the fuel pump to the metal top on the gas tank had a small slit in it .The best way to change the fuel pump is to remove the bed from the truck. 6 bolts and a wiring plug ( take my word on this). The is a 2 to 3 person at most job.

could be the timing chain causing a miss fire but id retime the engine then replace your pump an check your pipes to see if theres any leaks also check your air filer an oil pump

there,s a couple of things can do it. it could be the idle air control sensor dirty or the fuel pump regulator.
