i was going to get a cold air intake and intall it on my 2007 chevy cobalt coupe 2.2

i live in maryland and K&N's website says they are not legal here due to we are a state that adopted california's emmisons

if i install this intake will i still be able to pass the emmisions test?

no you probly wont pass, cause the stock intakes usually have emition wires in them some where to let the computer know how mush air its getting and all that jazz, plus if thy are illegal there, the garages will know it and they will see the cold air intake as soon as they open the hood, so they probly would fail you on the spot before they go much further. plus a cobolt is not the type of car for a cold air intake because with the 4 cylinder you will probly only gain about 10 hp, to gat any more you would have to get the intake, plus open up the exhaust, because you will get the more air which will ggive it more gas and give it more power, but with a 4 cylinder exhaust that extra power will be backed up by the small pipes and the catilysts converters. Just get an older car to play with like me. i got an 83 impala, i got a cold air exhaust, 2 1/2 inch exhaust and no cat's and it will pass inspection cause its an older car.
