When it turns, the sqeeking gets even louder, thats why I think it's a bearing.
It has been @ higher speeds as well
On the other side, there is a clunking when I go over a bump, even small.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Did you check the rear axle fluid level? Place the back on jack stands and determine if you have a bad bearing and look for something loose or broken causing the clunk. Dont forget to make sure the exhaust system isnt hitting something.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I wanna let everybody know what the issue was. It was the rear right shock absorber mounting bolt. It was loose, though I cannot completely tighten it. It is like I missed a spacer. Quick easy fix tho.

Thanks for letting us all know. A bearing won't squeak, they roar or grind. Squeaking is usually some type of bushing or rubber part. Did you have to put a washer in between the bushing and the nut?

@ Chuzz, no, when I replaced all 4 shock absorbers, there were no rubber to place betewween the shock and the bolt. is still clunks no matter how much i tighten it.
BTW, I can visualize the shock movin around by going underneath the bumper and pushing up than puling down and i can see the shock having movement upwards and downwards. alsoo the front end is making a tiny bit of noise.
thanks for da help zora nad chuzz.

You really need to make sure you've got the nuts and bolts torqued to the proper specs. Believe it or not, just a couple of foot pounds shy can make all of the difference in the world. Pictures would help. I've never seen shocks without rubber and a washer on them for mounting.

OK< I'll get a picture as soon as I can. Yep, no rubber. Maybe we were supposed to keep the old crapped up rubber? IDK, thanks for the reply.

The funny thing is, there was no rubber bushings for all 4 shocks and only 1 makes clunking...#scratchhead

Old thread bump, wanna update you guys on what this is, It was the shock mounting metal on metal bracket sound, but it also is the ball joints. Popping over bumps, they're toast and original.
