I have two Chevy Malibu's.
One is 2003
The other is 2004
The '03 has check engine light on. ECU reports spark plug miss fire. It should be a 4 plug engine since its an EcoTech (2 | 2, not streight line). My question is how do you get to the back spark plugs?? Do I have to take the engine out?
The '04 has a completely different problem. Let me try to sum it up for you. It would not start for a long time. Finally they changed out the ignition, and now it starts up fine. BUT... we cannot start it with the a/c on a number. It must be off. If the a/c is running, then it turns over, but all electrical equipment (Speed-o-meter, radio, ect) does not turn on. Also, if you turn it on while driving, 7/10 times, it will work. Mechanic shop cannot figure it out.
QUESTIONS RECAP:
'03
*How do you get to the back spark plugs??
*Do I have to take the engine out?
'04
*Is it an electrical problem?
--If not, what is it?
*Did they stretch a wire in the ignition?
THANKS!!!
