Hello. I own a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu 1.5 LT. I have a problem: when I press the gas pedal, the car remains stationary and doesn't move forward. Even though I press the gas pedal to the maximum, the car's engine revs, but the RPM increases very slowly (like in slow-motion at 960 fps). After about 5-10 seconds, the car suddenly accelerates as if there were no problems. Diagnostics don't show any issues, and there are no error messages on the onboard computer. No mechanic can figure out the problem.
Some backstory: Last summer, due to heat, the vacuum diaphragm was damaged, causing an oil leak. I had to replace it and clean the area under the vacuum diaphragm with water, about 10 square cm. I used the car without problems for about 3 months. In November last year, at a gas station, I was accidentally overfilled with gasoline (I ordered a full tank, but the attendant continued filling beyond the cutoff, even filling the fuel tank's neck). After that, the car stalled, though the electronics were working. It would rev up and accelerate by itself when in P and D modes. I took it to a service center, but diagnostics didn't reveal anything. They suspected an air leak and throttle issues, but everything seemed fine. They replaced the turbo, checked intake valves, and replaced a solenoid. Then the evap system. The problem seemed solved, but now I'm facing the issue where the car doesn't move when I press the gas pedal. It can rev for 5-10 seconds without moving and then suddenly jerks forward like Lightning McQueen. Recent diagnostics found an ABS issue and suggested software updates, but it didn't help. The problem remains. Anyone might know what's going on? In 4 years of ownership, I've never encountered such problems. Where should I look? What should I do? I'm tired of struggling with this car. I want to sell it, but I want to fix it before that. I don't want anyone's safety or health to be at risk if I sell the car in a faulty state. Please help.
