My 2006 Chevy Colorado seems to be getting really hot lately. Yes I know that where I live the temp has been over 100 the last couple of weeks. However, the temp is damn near hittting 3/4 the way up the temp gague and the cooling system can't seem to keep up at all. What do you think could be causing this. It can run for about 30 minutes where it should and then goes up the temp gauge.

There are quite a few problems that can cause a car to overheat, & overheating an engine is sure death... Suggest you take it to a car doctor before something gets worse....

The guage may be reading normal for all we know.
Check coolant level.
Make sure your thermostat is working.
Check strength of coolant with a $5 tester.

I have an 08,5cyl,,i can drive it on level roadway,,The temp gauge reads at half,,where I live it is mountainous,And everytime I go uphill, the gauge reads 3/4,thats way too hot in my opinion,,?

prater,t,
I would recommend taking your vehicle to the dealer to discuss your concerns. Please keep me updated on your visit.
