chevy cobalt or aveo?

my sister is looking into buying my niece one of these two cars, which one would be better choice. this is my niece's first car she just turned eighteen. she is going to school plans to get a job. she doesnt want to get her flashy cars, just a car that can get her from destination A to B, ya know? please tell me why you picked that car.
-isn't the cobalt a little too big?
-does the aveo have enough space.
