Chevy Cobalt First car ?

hey today i looked at some chevy cobalts . I like the two door kind though . Are they good first cars ?
to be specific i want the LT trim with the leather seats and power windows

We have one in the household.
At 17K miles it needs front tires.
It's had 2 recalls and, I don't think fit/finish of body is that great......
Only cost $14K though.....
