I really gotta agree with gorge. I think the corvette is a sleeker, more sophisticated sports car that has been lightened (hence the fiberglass body and aluminum block) and the camaro is the ironhead version of the same thing. Typically the corvette has appealed to the "richer" community, where lease options only start at around $800/month or purchase for a minimum of $50,000 these days. The camaro is meant more to be the poor-man's corvette (I say that very lightly though), typically being more within the middle-income price range.
I personally own a camaro, and I wouldn't trade it for a vette if my life depended on it. To me the sleekness of a sporty ride can't ever replace the rumble beneath your bumble.
