Chevy 1989 1500 Truck Silverado?

I am looking to buy this truck the price is 1488 the mileage is 203,000 and it has rust on the metal above the tire and there is rust near the end of the running board on the truck. A bedliner, broken side mirror, no sliding window on the rear. There was an odd noise when it was parked, but i can't describe it. What I want to know is it hard to find parts for this truck type? Is it worth the price and if not what would be a good price offer for it? Is it reliable? How many mpg does it get? Is it a crappy horrible monster of a truck that it will guzzle out your money just to get it up and running?
The sound only lasted a second then stopped and i can't even remember what it sounded like.
How good is this truck compared to a 1991 Chevy Suburban with 119,331 miles being sold at 1,000 dollars. Is the 89 better than the 91?
Is the 91 a fair price for 1000 dollars? and if not what is?

Offer $900.00 for it and they say no,walk.
Gas mileage depends on the engine size,
but should get ok mileage.My personal
opinion would be to buy the Suburban.
