Having issue with mh 5 speed 98 cavalier, has 2.2. I got the car with broken shifter cable. I replaced the cables, and the car wont move. I can hear and feel it going into gear, and the clutch pedal feels fine, doesnt stick to the floor or anything. Clutch fluid is full. I can put it in hear, rev the engine and it doesnt budge, dont smell clutch burning. Any info will help.

Thanx

if the clutch is already burnt out you wont smell more clutch wear.
You confirmed that the gear selector lever on the transmission case is actually moving when you shift into the different gears?

Yep, confirmed gears are changing on trans. Cant hear the clutch move at all tho when pressing the pedal

if the clutch disc was in good condition and the hydraulic release wasnt working it would grind when the engine was running when you tried to shift into a gear.

Thats what i thought. Its just wierd, the person i got it from was drivi g it befor the shift cable broke. Could it be the clutch be stuck ooen somehow? Or maybe i did t get the whole stoey from him, could have burned the clutch out i suppose if it was stuck in a higher gear, and he rode the clutch to drive it. Just wanna see any ither possibilities befor changing the clutch.

clutches do not get stuck in the open position, the cover consists of either one very large spring or multiple smaller springs. As long as you are sure the shift lever on the case is fully moving the only other possibility involves removing the transmission and checking the clutch.
