Can you use a compression gage to determine TDC on a 1997 Chevy silverado 350? It has the cam and crank position sensors, so there is no marks on the balancer. Dumb ass me forgot to mark it before i took the old distributor out. I have no luck with the finger blowing off of the #1 piston, and cant get a screw driver in there real good with all the stuff in the way. Already took the damn thing out 3 times. Can a compression gage show TDC? Thanks
Well what about a dial indicator stuck into the spark plug hole? When it showed it at its highest point, it should be TDC right?

No, you will have to find it with the piston rising against something down the plug hole, it's the only way.
