i want to buy a chevy cobalt and want to know if its worth it if Will last me a lot of years if the motor is good and all of that good stuff.

cobalt is basically like the cavalier, the guy up there might have had a lemon to say that. you either get lucky, or you don't.

i would go for a cobalt. like i said, it's like a cavalier and my cavalier has 700,000+ miles on the stock motor. if you don't believe me i'll take a picture and personally send it to you.

the cobalts haven't been around really long enough to know their longevity, however they are basically the new Cavaliers, that did NOT have a good track record, GM cars in general don't have a strong heritage for long lasting

My suggestion would by an 06 Subaru Impreza, not a WRX or STi, just a base model RS, or something similar, I have a 93 Impreza with 230k miles on it that has never given me an issue.

Honda's and Toyotas are good also, however I have never heard one person personally say they had a problem with their subaru, I once knew a guy who had on old Legacy, he called it his Moon car, because technically he had driven to the moon and back with it on the original motor, had about 550K miles on it,

However, if you service your car correctly, treat it nicely, drive decent, most all cars will last a long time.

It's alright........just another car that gets good gas mileage. It's not a race car, it will never be a hotrod or a collectors car. It WILL however, get you back an forth to work/school. Does fairly good in the snow, and won't be to bad on insurance, or gas. Resale though.....hmmmm, hard to say what with todays economy. But afterall, its not a Corvette, more like the new gen cavalier. Which is all of the above. It will inevitably become a throw away vehicle within 6 to 10 years.

Dont listen to him!! i have a 2005 chevy cobalt and a 2009 chevy cobalt! they run great! my 2005 has 190k miles on it and i have NEVER had an issue with it. they are GREAT cars if they are treated right..i change the oil/filter every 4k miles on it and it runs perfectly.

Dont think i treat my cobalt nicely either. they are put through a beatin in my sandlot races! i had my 2005 racing a month after i bought it, and its still going strong. My 2009 is even better. it already has 10k miles on it and i never had a problem!
