Basically i was wondering if you could switch the back part of a 79 camaro into a 71 back. I like the 71 tail lights that are round instead of the ugly ones one the 79 has. I was wondering if it were possible to switch them out. Bumper too if possible. I just want to know if it is at all possible no matter the challenge or cost. I heard they could interchange pretty easily like the front. I cant find any answers anywhere tho. I can find plenty on the front but hardly any for the rear.

ANYTHING is possible, but what you need to know is that front fenders and body panels are seperate from the unibody and are removable/replacable/substituable for a different year.

The back body panels, rear fender and tail area are all part of the UNIBODY. You can't unscrew it and remove it. You may cut out a panel area and replace it. Or you may cover up the existing taillight holes and cut new holes of the proper size and shape to mount the lights you like. Many custom car builders over the years have substituted lights, it isn't that big a trick, but it may take some welding, leading or bondo work. Leading is the cool and proper way to do the custom work so it will last. And you can bandaid about anything together with Bondo, but it will probably crack 5 years later.
