C4 corvette exhaust fumes terrible?

just had a new engine and fuel pump installed... idles high at start, but even after it slows down the fumes from the exhaust are terrible.

if your talking about in the car, then check the connections under the car, if the midpipe gasket is cracked or not lined up the exhaust leak will come up right under your seat, and window
look for leaks, best way is in the cold look for louds that arnt at the tail pipe

Do you smell them while sitting in the car? That would mean an exaust leak.
