Buy a New Chevrolet silverado 2009 1/2 ton or a 1936 Chevrolet truck

restored 1/2 ton? im saving up for my first vehicle im looking forward to buying it within a few months when i get my licence and turn 16 i want a chevy truck... im a chevy fan what ive been wondering if im a complet idiot for buying a 1936 completly restored truck for $17,500 no one in my family hase ever owned any thing that old but i really love the way the front end looks with the super glossy black pain ( i know thats not the origanel paint they used to use flat paint but i like it ) what kinda things should i look out for when i buy it? (if i do) or would it be smarter to buy a brand new 2009 chevy truck for $16,500?... i kinda love the way the 1936 looks.... and i heard since itsa classic the insurance for it is drastically cheaper... and i can get classic licence plates ;D

Are you mechanically inclined? The 1936 will require constant attention if used for a daily driver. Most people who restore a vehicle like that only drive them on weekends. If I were in your shoes I would opt for the new truck. I love classic cars but the new ones are so much more dependable.
