2012 Equinox 4 CYL LS wouldn’t start. Battery was fine after testing (Lights on dashboard all working).
I had to tow it to a GM dealership because my mechanic wasn’t sure what the issue was - but assumed it may be computer related.
GM dealer in Etobicoke looked over the car and told me it was the BCM that died. The kicker - 2-3 months wait time before the dealership would even get confirmation the part is being shipped. Then it may be weeks after that to actually receive the part. And, the quoted price was about $700 Canadian.
Car is sitting at the dealership going on 8 days now. I’ve tried looking around for part suppliers that could ship the part sooner (and cheaper). Zero luck. Incredibly frustrated. The part is actually listed on websites for about 300$ but I can’t seem to find one that ships to Canada and is reputable.
Would anyone here have experience with parts suppliers?
Unbelievable that the car is sitting in a GM dealership parking lot because of a $300 part they won’t even attempt to locate. “Parts guy says 2-3 months before we even know the part is shipping. That’s all we know.” Customer service seems to be lacking here. Maybe after Covid supply chains are still severely disrupted. Ughhhh
Thank you for your responses.
