Based on the reviews I have seen on the Dodge Viper, why would anybody choose it...

...over the Corvette? I hear that it is impossible to handle because you never really know where the limit actually is. Also, it seems like 8.4 liters should yield a lot more horse power than 600. Dodge needed 8.3 liters just to get 500, and don't forget that the BMW M5 only has a 5.0 liter V10, and also got 500.

On the other hand, the Corvette handles beautifully, and the current ZR1 and Z06 can even be mentioned in the same breath with Ferrari and Porsche.

The Viper just seems horrible.

If you own a Viper, can you tell me if the reviews are biased? Is it hard to handle/powerslide?

Vipers cost to much. No one really chooses it over the Corvette or M3. Look how many Vipers you see compared to Corvettes or BMWs.

Most reviews say the Z06 is very hard to find the limit in. The ZR1 fixed that but also costs more than the Viper. The Viper is right in the middle for performance and price. The Vette tends to be more user friendly and easy to drive on the street and the Vipers are more track ready.

The BMW engine costs a lot more than a Viper engine. Money buys things like fancy materials and fancy technology.

With a little tuning the Viper engine can make a lot more power. They always tend to stay just ahead of the Vette and when they get passed they just up the power a year or 2 later.

It is a matter of taste. The Corvette and the Porsche are more refined and can be driven on the street more comfortably. The Viper is a racer tamed for the street. It has a more raw power feel to it than the others and the engine is simple and clean in design. There are few high tech power parts, no fancy stereo or a/c controls. It is a limited production car which is sold out every year. If you look at the reviews, its lags behind the other except in track stats. Every reviewer loves it on the track. The body is sexy, and man's car!
